Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations for hematology and oncology patients
- Assist physicians in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and side effect management
- Document all patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care
- Monitor patient progress, evaluate responses to treatment, and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide supportive care focused on symptom management and quality-of-life improvement
- Participate in patient rounds, case discussions, and continuing education activities
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) licensure in good standing
- Current national board certification as an NP or PA
- DEA certification
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills
- Knowledge of oncology medications, chemotherapy protocols, and treatment side effects
- Excellent patient communication and health education abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems and documentation standards
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting
Qualifications
- Entry-level experience is acceptable
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
