Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations for hematology and oncology patients.
- Assist physicians in creating and executing individualized treatment plans.
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and side effect management.
- Document all patient encounters accurately in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain patient progress, evaluate responses to treatment, and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Provide supportive care focused on symptom management and quality-of-life improvement.
- Participate in patient rounds, case discussions, and continuing education activities.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) licensure in good standing.
- Current national board certification as an NP or PA.
- DEA certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical-thinking skills.
- Knowledge of oncology medications, chemotherapy protocols, and treatment side effects.
- Excellent patient communication and health education abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems and documentation standards.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
Qualifications
- Entry-level experience is acceptable.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
