NHS Tayside · Dundee, OH · 3 wk ago
HealthcareFull-time

About the role

NHS Tayside seeks to appoint a Locum Paediatric Consultant with an interest in Community Child Health. Following retirals and vacant sessions within the service, this post has been created with a view to the continuing development and improvement of existing services. An interest in Neurodevelopmental assessment and/or Child Protection would be required. While there is potential for this locum post to become a substantive post in the future, this cannot be guaranteed. If the post becomes substantive, it will be filled through the usual recruitment process and applicants would need to reapply. NHS Tayside is supportive of continuous professional development, and all of our posts include 2 PAs for supporting professional activities (pro‑rata). The successful applicant is likely to be based in Dundee with the expectation that some sessions may be based throughout Tayside. Existing team members live across the area and a number work between localities. You will be joining a supportive, forward‑thinking team with a broad range of experience and well‑established links with other agencies. We have regular team meetings and joint training both within the wider CCH team and across specialties with our neonatal and general paediatric colleagues. We welcome applications from doctors wishing to work less than full‑time and those wishing to pursue further training to develop a specialist interest. Informal enquiries can be made to Dr Jenny Fraser, Clinical Lead for Community Child Health, Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre [01307 475260]; Dr Joanna Chisholm, Consultant Paediatrician, Armitstead Child Development Centre [01382 835100]; or Dr Helen Dunne, Clinical Care Group Director, Consultant Paediatrician, Drumhar Health Centre [01738 564257].

  • If you have appropriate specialist training and experience but are not on the GMC Specialist Register, you can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months); during locum employment you can apply to obtain a CESR and enter the Specialist Register
