Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in San Diego, CA.

About the role

This is a temporary locum tenens assignment lasting 12 weeks, starting on September 21, 2026.

Schedule

  • 24-hour on-call coverage
  • Standard 3x12-hour shifts (00:00 - 00:00)

Pay

$210 - $220 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia management, and postoperative pain management.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, surgical teams, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and adjust anesthetic plans as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in anesthesia practice through continuing education.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited CRNA program.
  • Active and unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in California.
  • National certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical anesthesia setting (preferred).
