Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon

This role is for a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon providing inpatient coverage at a full-service acute care facility. Responsibilities include performing adult cardiac surgeries such as CABG, valve repairs, and replacements, as well as general thoracic procedures like lung biopsies and VATS decortication. The surgeon will manage ICU care for high-acuity cases, including Impella procedures, and support structural heart interventions in hybrid OR and cath lab settings. Key duties involve managing an average of 1-2 cases per day, working in a high-acuity adult patient population, and providing prescriptive authority. Work entails 24-hour shifts with on-call duties, requiring flexibility and readiness to handle complex surgical and ICU cases. Ideal candidates should possess strong clinical skills, experience with adult cardiac and thoracic surgeries, and the ability to manage critically ill patients.
