A temporary locum tenens assignment in Saratoga Springs, NY lasting 13 weeks, starting 10-19-26.

About the role

Provide comprehensive cardiac care in an acute-care hospital. The position requires both scheduled shifts and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients in various inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans for various cardiovascular conditions.
  • Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (depending on subspecialty).
  • Educate and counsel patients on heart disease prevention, risk factors, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (nurses, surgeons, specialists) to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
  • Stay current on the latest advancements in cardiology through continuing education.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Fellowship training in cardiology (may be preferred depending on the position).
  • Board certification in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in New York.
  • At least one year of experience providing cardiac care in a clinical setting (preferred).

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of cardiology principles and practices, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart disease.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical proficiency in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (if applicable).
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing patient conditions.
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively.

Schedule

  • Standard 5-day, 8-hour shifts (08:00 – 17:00).
  • On-call coverage required.

Pay

$250/hour – $280/hour.
