- Scheduled shifts plus on-call required

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiac care to patients in various inpatient and outpatient settings
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests
- Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans for various cardiovascular conditions
- Perform cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures (depending on subspecialty)
- Educate and counsel patients on heart disease prevention, risk factors, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (nurses, surgeons, specialists) to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients
- Stay current on the latest advancements in cardiology through continuing education
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of cardiology principles and practices, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart disease
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical proficiency in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (if applicable)
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing patient conditions
- Time management and organizational skills to manage patient workload effectively
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Fellowship training in cardiology (may be preferred depending on the position)
- Board certification in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Wisconsin
- At least one year of experience providing cardiac care in a clinical setting (preferred)
