About the role

This temporary assignment spans 23 weeks, starting on October 19, 2026, at an acute care hospital. The role is designed to fill staffing gaps and offers a flexible schedule with competitive pay.

Schedule and Coverage

  • Shift type: Scheduled + No Call
  • Shift schedule: Standard 3, 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly.

  • Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics).
  • Active and unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in California.
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]).
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to the specialty (preferred).
