Locum APP Hospitalist – Daytime Coverage

About the role

Start Date: December 2026 and ongoing. A small, community-based hospital is seeking a Locum APP Hospitalist to provide consistent daytime coverage beginning December 2026. There is no current end date for the assignment, offering an opportunity for a provider interested in ongoing locum work. The hospital offers a collaborative, physician-respected environment with supportive nursing staff, a collegial ED and surgical team, and a strong case management team to assist with patient discharge.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM (in-person hospital coverage required during shifts). No call.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and observation care for adult patients (approximately 8–10 patients per day).
• Manage patients on observation, inpatient floor, and intermediate/step-down level of care.
• Respond to codes and rapid responses.
• Manage and stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transfer to a tertiary‑care facility when needed.
• Utilize Cerner Community Works EMRAI scribe support for documentation.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with hospitalist experience.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM with no call.
• Comfortable managing critically ill patients and coordinating transfers.
