Locate Technician - Spokane, WA

Stake Center Locating is hiring entry‑level Utility Locators (Field Technicians) to locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground with paint and flags, helping prevent damage in the community. The role includes 100 % paid training, and candidates should enjoy working outdoors in all weather, be able to work independently, and solve problems quickly and accurately.

Pay

$22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Think safety first.
• Use a laptop computer to receive, document, and process tickets and email.
• Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine the best method and sequence for locating.
• Use provided locate equipment and technology to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2–3 times per week.
• Ability to carry up to 5 lb of electronic locating equipment for extended periods; lift objects up to 25 lb or lift in excess of 75 lb with tool aids.
• Pass pre‑employment background and drug screening.

Schedule

• Flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as ticket/production load requires.
• Respond to emergency calls during scheduled on‑call shift rotation.
