Local SEO Lead

About the role

The role involves building a local SEO engine for Wonderly, a platform designed to help local service businesses generate more revenue by improving their online visibility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire local SEO strategy, from planning and execution to ongoing optimization and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the local SEO strategy across priority verticals and markets
• Develop and execute map pack and Google Business Profile strategies
• Create programmatic local page strategies for city, category, and service combinations
• Design SEO architecture for local service business pages
• Conduct keyword research for local and high-intent service queries
• Perform competitive research against leading local directories and platforms
• Implement technical SEO requirements for local page generation
• Develop internal linking strategies and schema recommendations
• Analyze indexing issues and improve page quality
• Manage local citation and NAP strategies
• Write content templates that can scale without compromising quality
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing teams
• Provide regular reports on organic growth in local search

Requirements

This role requires a deep understanding of local SEO principles and the ability to apply them effectively across various categories and service areas. The ideal candidate should have experience in building and optimizing local SEO strategies, as well as strong analytical skills to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
• Proven track record in local SEO, preferably in a B2B context
• Experience with Google Analytics, Search Console, and other SEO tools
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Expertise in local SEO strategies and tactics
• Knowledge of Google's local search algorithm and ranking factors
• Experience with programmatic local page creation and optimization
