Local News Reporter

The Bentonville Bulletin is hiring a full-time reporter to expand our local government, growth, and business coverage in Bentonville, a city undergoing rapid transformation.

About the role

You’ll work alongside our founder to learn our coverage style, then pitch and pursue your own story ideas. The goal is to help locals understand the impact of changes in their community by digging deeper than official announcements and adding context.

Responsibilities

• Report on local government, business, and growth stories.
• Pitch and develop original story ideas.
• Provide in-depth analysis and context beyond official communications.

Requirements

• At least 2–3 years of professional reporting experience (all applicants welcome).
• Curiosity, resourcefulness, and strong investigative skills.
• Photography skills are a plus.

Pay

$50,000 starting salary, with some room for negotiation.

Schedule

In-person in Bentonville, with flexibility to work from home some days.
