Local Government Specialist
Role Overview
The Specialist serves as the Comptroller’s primary point of contact with local government. They support county government officials during the semiannual property tax settlement process, work closely with other local government stakeholders, and manage various tax distributions and remittances.
Duties and Functions
- Coordinate and manage the semiannual settlement process
- Prepare and initiate various tax distributions to local government
- Review, process, and track tax remittances from local government
- Communicate and support local government officials on tax and procedural questions
- Aid the Asset Management team with lease management
Job Requirements and Responsibilities
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Strong problem-solving skills
License and Certification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Financial Management/Analysis plus 5 years of professional experience, or 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Salary Statement
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $70,000 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
