Local Driver Delivery (CDL A)

Airgas is Hiring for a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A) in Elkhart, IN.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Operation: Operate a Class A Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.
• Customer Service: Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Documentation: Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Logistics: Handle the loading and unloading of all materials.
• Safety and Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintaining the vehicle's condition.
• Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries.

Required Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A Driver’s License.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Must have the Hazmat Endorsement.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have one (1) year of Class A driving experience within the last five (5) years.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift or move around 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.
• Flexible to work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift Experience.
• Tough freight delivery experience.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay range of $29 - $30 per hour.
• Monday - Friday, day shift position.
• Safety Driver Bonus (Paid Quarterly).
• Gainshare Bonus (Paid Quarterly).
