Local Delivery Driver CDL B)
Job Summary
We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Rochester, NY. The role involves safe transportation, loading, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders, managing customer relations, operating warehouse equipment, and adhering to hazardous material safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, along designated routes.
- Collect empty cylinders from customers and address inquiries to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Record all transactions accurately and obtain necessary customer signatures.
- Handle the loading and unloading of all materials.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, noting any issues to ensure full safety compliance and maintaining the vehicle's condition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and serve as a representative of the company during all deliveries.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Class B or better CDL with HAZMAT endorsement.
- Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
- DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
- At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 5 years.
- Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
- Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
- Adherence to safety regulations and policies.
