Local Delivery Driver - CDL A - Laredo, TX

This position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers.

About the role

Deliver product to all types of customers including Foodservice. Drive the delivery vehicle and deliver product to the store. Responsible for ongoing rotating and stocking of product on store shelves, displays, in coolers, and vending equipment. Build small displays and set up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners. Generate invoices and handle daily settlement of cash and charges. Frequent interaction with store management and receiving personnel for load acceptance.

This position requires lifting and loading cases ranging from 20-45 pounds repeatedly during work hours, pushing/pulling using 40-150 pounds of force occasionally, and reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering and merchandising products. Unload pallets of product from the delivery vehicle using an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck and place product in the designated backroom area.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product and execute all promotions
• Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
• Merchandise all accounts to local standards
• Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account

Requirements

• 21 years or older
• Pass the DOT drug test and DOT Physical
• Valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
• High School diploma or GED

Note: In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.

Helpful Experience

• Operating trucks requiring a Valid U.S. CDL license (e.g., driving forwards, driving backwards, or maneuvering in tight spaces)
• Adhering to all DOT regulations (e.g., reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
• Merchandising products (e.g., filling shelves, building displays, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out-of-stocks and out-of-date products)
• Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (e.g., operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, or using load bars and straps)
• Operating equipment (pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
• Documenting DOT regulations (e.g., reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English

$29.50 per hour
