Local Delivery Driver (Box Truck)

About the role

Local Delivery Driver position for the branch operations group at the Earth City, MO branch. The driver is responsible for the safe operation of company trucks for timely delivery of HVAC products to customer and company locations, including loading, unloading, and transferring products using various equipment and forklifts. The role also involves assisting with warehouse and front counter duties, and providing high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames safely using the most efficient routes.
• Maintain required logs and reports to comply with DOT and Company safety policies for delivery vehicles, forklifts, etc.
• Safely load, block, brace, and secure cargo.
• Ensure compliance with driving, traffic, and transportation laws and regulations.
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transfer, load, and unload product, ensuring accuracy in product and quantity.
• Perform pre-check and post-check operations of company vehicles and forklifts per required procedures.
• Perform warehouse duties, ensuring accurate product and quantity for customers.
• Follow good housekeeping and safety practices; heavy lifting is required.
• Act as backup for warehouse and/or front counter as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
• Working knowledge of commercial truck mechanics and current DOT regulations.
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past 3 years.
• Placement contingent upon successful completion of DOT road test, pre-employment drug & alcohol testing, and background check.
• DMV record must not reflect an excess of 2 moving violations and/or preventable accidents within the past 3 years.
• Must pass DOT standards and maintain an excellent driving record.
• Ability to proficiently use MS Office (Outlook & Excel), Mincron, and a scanner.
• Ability to multi-task and assist in warehouse, front counter, or branch as needed.
• Must be punctual and conscientious of time.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• 3+ years of experience driving a commercial vehicle.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without employer sponsorship.
