Local Deliver Driver

About the role

Viking Electric offers electrical products and services to contractors throughout the Midwest as part of the Sonepar group, the world’s #1 electrical distributor. As a driver, you will deliver essential electrical products from the warehouse to customers, conducting pre‑trip inspections, loading materials, making local deliveries, assisting with unloading, and building strong customer relationships. The position is based in Minneapolis, MN, full‑time, requires a Class B CDL, and involves operating a box truck/straight truck.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre‑trip inspection of delivery vehicle
• Load materials and packages for the day’s deliveries
• Make local deliveries, contacting customers upon arrival and assisting with unloading
• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
• Transport and deliver products to customers with care
• Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license – Class B CDL
• At least 21 years old
• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift packages up to 85 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical with our physician network
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
• Basic English communication skills
• Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (training provided)
• Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future

Pay

Hourly pay: $27.00 – $32.00 per hour, with increases based on Class B delivery experience. Compensation includes hourly pay, short‑term incentive bonus, and a full benefits package.

Schedule

6 am – 3 pm, Monday – Friday (local deliveries – return home each night).
