About the Role
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher ($50-$55/hr) to support students of all ages in the Anchorage, AK area. This full-time, in-person role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment, creating inclusive and personalized educational plans that help students thrive academically and emotionally.
The breakdown of current needs is:
- 19 positions for special education elementary, mostly in Autism
- 7 positions for special education middle school
- 5 positions for special education high school
Responsibilities
- Accommodate, modify, and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
- Support the facilitation of IEP meetings and development of the IEP
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of students
- Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior and school environment using positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques
- Assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Special Education
- Hold a teaching certificate through DEED in the state of AK (can start with the application in process)
Schedule
- Full-time, in-person only
- Dates: 8/17/26 – 5/27/27, plus snow days if applicable
- Hours: 7.5 hours per day in accordance with the school schedule
