Local Contract Operating Room RN - $42-49 per hour

About the Role

Medical Solutions is seeking a local contract nurse (RN) for an Operating Room position in Hopewell, Virginia. This is a 13-week assignment with a 36-hour workweek, 10-hour day shifts, and local contract employment.

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 4 operating rooms
• Number of Staff: 16
• Staffing Breakdown:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, 3 Star RNs, 4 OR Techs, and 4 Surgical Assistants
  • Evening Shift: Coverage needed across evening hours (5 PM, 7 PM, and 9 PM)
  • Night Shift: Call only
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Equipment: Specialty OR beds (Hanna, Jackson), positioning, electrosurgical

Responsibilities

• Circulate, scrub, and/or assist in the Operating Room
• Perform typical procedures including:
  • General surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Neuro surgery
  • ENT surgery

Requirements

Candidates must have the following skills; those without will not be considered:

• RN’s who can circulate as well as scrub and/or assist
• RN’s with ACLS and PALS certifications
• Surgical Assistants (SA’s) who can assist, scrub, and/or have Central Sterile knowledge
• OR Techs who can scrub, assist, and/or have Central Sterile knowledge

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Cornflower blue (no outside scrubs allowed)
• Hair cover, mask, and eye protection required
• No jewelry for scrubbed personnel
• Fingernails must be clean, short, and well-manicured at all times
