Local contract opportunity for an Occupational Therapist in Montesano, WA.
About the role
The Occupational Therapist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. The in-home setting could be a patient's private residence or in a patient's room in an independent living facility. This position allows evaluation and treatment in the patient's home, the most functional environment. The role offers a flexible schedule and work environment across various settings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required by state licensure and professional standards.
- Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, including clinical and billing documentation requirements and work-related meetings.
- Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and related meetings.
- Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies to address comprehensive patient needs.
- Consult with rehabilitation team members, including community physicians, to select appropriate therapeutic regimens.
- Adapt programs and care plans based on individual patient needs.
- Promote a safe environment and enforce fire and safety hazard elimination.
- Order, clean, maintain, and report equipment needs.
- Prioritize patient service, ensuring high-quality care in a compassionate atmosphere.
- Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and application of tests/measures.
- Develop and implement treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers.
- Provide therapeutic techniques in areas such as cognitive skills, muscle strength, coordination, endurance, mobility, sensory awareness, and activities of daily living.
- Design, fabricate, fit, and apply adaptive devices, including orthotics and prosthetics.
- Select activities suited to patients' physical and mental capacities, intelligence, and interests.
- Instruct patients in skills and techniques for functional activities and evaluate progress.
- Demonstrate case management skills in home and community settings.
- Address low vision, falls risk management, medication management, health and wellness, and community integration.
Requirements
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients' residences.
Skills

Schedule
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Duration: 12 weeks (13 weeks total assignment length)
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts (08:00 AM - 04:30 PM)
- Minimum guarantee: 40 hours
