Local Contract Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $60-63 per hour
About the role
American Medical Staffing is seeking a local contract nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week assignment in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care for cardiac and post-operative patients, including managing complex diagnoses and titrating IV drips according to ordered parameters.
- Utilize advanced skills in Epicardial pacing and chest tube management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data to identify arrhythmias such as Bradycardia, A-fib, and SVT.
- Apply knowledge of Bradycardia, A-fib, SVT, CHF, CAD, NSTEMI, PVD, PE, CVA/TIA, post-operative VATS, lobectomy, wedge resection, chest tubes, tracheotomy (no vents), TAVR, post-op day 1 CABG patients.
- Titrate drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, procainamide, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulin.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as an RN.
- BLS, ACLS certifications required.
- Experience handling diagnoses such as Bradycardia, A-fib, SVT, CHF, CAD, NSTEMI, PVD, PE, CVA/TIA, post-operative VATS, lobectomy, wedge resection, chest tubes, tracheotomy (no vents), TAVR, post-op day 1 CABG patients.
- Valid RN license in WV or compact license.
- Willingness to obtain WV licensure if not already licensed.
Qualifications

Schedule
12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, Night shift only or rotating day and night; 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights, depending on staffing needs; self-scheduling via a scheduling committee.
