About the role

This part-time cooperative education job opportunity is available in Auburn, MI. This position is open to qualified and highly-committed college students enrolled in a fully accredited college or university located very close to the Auburn Dow site. Unlike a short-term internship, this role is a long-term, year-round undergraduate student position—at least one full year in duration—while the student is simultaneously taking classes toward an undergraduate degree. This opportunity offers valuable professional work experience in a dynamic, multinational corporation interfacing with colleagues and leaders in many different roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Auburn Manufacturing Plant, assisting with daily operations and team needs
  • Coordinate office activities, including scheduling, document management, office supply management, and support routine office operations, including phone coverage
  • Assist with project work and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time
  • Support technical related activities, including basic data tracking, analysis, and reporting

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma/GED and already enrolled at an accredited college or university located close to the Auburn Dow site, pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Successfully complete a minimum of 6 credit hours per term during both the Fall and Winter terms (Sept-Apr)
  • Strong GPA of 3.000+ preferred
  • Able to begin work within 3 weeks of the job offer and work year-round at least 16 hours each week during regular business hours (8am-5pm, Mon-Fri; max 8 hours/day and 30/week during school)
  • Commit to the role for at least 1 full calendar year (before completing classes for your stated undergraduate degree or before transferring out of the area)
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality in commuting to work daily or at least 2 days a week; dependable transportation, dedication, and time management skills are required
  • Must live within 50 miles of the Dow site to which they are applying
  • Current Dow college co-ops wishing to transfer into this role must have been in their current role at least one full year, must have at least one full year left before graduating or transferring out of the area, and must have supervisor approval before applying
  • Ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship/support is available for this position

Qualifications

  • There is no required course of study, but students pursuing business, operations, or engineering majors may be the best fit
  • Must be able to deliver a quality work product, pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, and follow through to completion
  • Must be efficient, productive, and able to meet deadlines
  • Should take initiative on work that needs to be done, ask for clarity or additional instruction when needed, and work independently as well as cooperatively with the team
  • Should be flexible, cooperative, and have a positive attitude
