Local CDL Driver- $5,000 sign on bonus

About the role

As a CDL Driver, you’ll get the opportunity for competitive pay, weekends off, to be home daily, and have no touch freight. The position is based in Hammond, LA, handling local truckload deliveries with drop‑and‑hook operations.

Responsibilities

• Handle all local truckload deliveries; primarily drop and hook
• Deliver and pick up trailers within 500 miles, making about 3‑5 routes per shift
• Drive an automatic 53’ truck/dry van for 10‑12 hour shifts
• Work Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (weekends off, home daily)

Requirements

• 1‑year CDL‑A driving experience within the past 3 years
• At least 23 years of age
• Valid license to operate a commercial motor vehicle
• Pass a DOT Physical from a nationally registered DOT‑approved physician
• No record of being disqualified to drive
• Successful completion of a DOT road test
• PSP report scores of 10 or below in the past 3 years (higher scores reviewed)
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
• Ability to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a vehicle cab for entire shifts
• Ability to work in extreme conditions (heat, cold, elements, air particulate)
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (eye protection, ear protection, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision

Pay

Hourly pay $21.00/hr with a $5,000 sign‑on bonus ($2,500 paid at 30 days, $2,500 paid at 90 days). Starting rate is USD $21.00/Hr.

Schedule

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (weekends off, home daily).
