About the Role

As a Silvi Materials Concrete Mixer Driver, you will maintain the highest standard of quality and safety while ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of concrete. You will operate an 80,000 lbs ready-mix truck and perform duties that contribute to the success of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate an 80,000 lbs ready-mix truck in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT guidelines; document and request required repairs as needed.
• Load and pour concrete according to procedures involving the use of ladders, main chutes, and extension chutes.
• Drive in and out of areas with heavy pedestrian and equipment traffic.
• Maintain delivery, truck, and driving records in accordance with company policies, federal, and state regulations.
• Read delivery tickets and communicate with dispatch regarding all deliveries.
• Wash residual concrete and materials off and out of all areas of the truck and barrel.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL-A or CDL-B) and have a valid DOT Medical Card.
• Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Able to work a variable schedule with start times between 12 AM and 9 AM; requires calling in to the plant at 4/5 PM daily.
• 1 year of preferred driving experience.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds on a regular basis throughout the day.
• Able to climb on traditional and truck ladders.
• Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
• Hear sounds and recognize differences between them.
• Make fast, repeated movements of fingers, hands, and wrists while driving.
• Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
• Move two or more limbs together (e.g., two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
• Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• Use muscles to jump, sprint, or throw objects.
• Use muscles for extended periods of time and be physically active for long periods.
• Determine the direction from which a sound came.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.

Pay

Approximately $29.60/hour (base and yardage bonus gross estimate).
