Responsibilities
- Assist the server in providing an expertly served dining experience
- Clear and reset tables according to standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line
- Deliver food to the correct tables and seat numbers while giving an accurate and appealing food description
- Communicate fluidly with the restaurant chef
- Assist department managers with training new employees as requested
- Work efficiently and professionally while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests
- Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome
- Maintain the safety and security of the restaurant/bar premises
- Identify guests’ preferences and personal information (e.g., dining regularity, food/drink choices, allergies, special occasions, seating preferences)
- Keep the working environment clean, tidy, and presentable
- Recognize regular guests, remember their names, and communicate their satisfaction to managers and reception
- Use appropriate language as outlined in training guidelines
- Accommodate special requests or allergies
- Perform all assigned duties detailed in opening, afternoon, and closing checklists
- Distribute server slips (guest notes) and ensure updates are promptly shared with servers and management
- Move furniture as directed by management (e.g., tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, equipment)
Requirements
- Prior experience working in Food & Beverage
- One year of experience in an upscale, fine dining establishment preferred
- One year of OpenTable experience preferred
- Ability to listen effectively, empathetically, and respectfully
- Strong communication and assertiveness skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Team-oriented with strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- A sincere willingness to provide service to residents, guests, and peers
- Ability to work independently and function well under pressure
- High work ethic and sense of responsibility
- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening availability required
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Fluency in English and legal work authorization in the United States
