Lobby Bar Bartender - Part Time

About the role

As a Bartender at Sonesta International Hotels, you’ll consistently deliver results that contribute to the hotel’s mission and success by meeting performance objectives in the hotel’s social venues. You’ll set up, service, and break down the bar area while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and service.

Responsibilities

• Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes, and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
• Prepare the bar for service by ensuring supplies, garnishes, and utensils are properly set up according to quality standards.
• Inventory unused liquor and beverages; ensure all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of shift.
• Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures; accurately ring drink orders into the P.O.S. system.
• Clean and reset bar top and tables immediately after guests depart.
• Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
• Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced environment, primarily indoors.
• Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures (e.g., kitchens, freezers, loading docks).

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
• Must be able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Schedule

Set schedule: Sunday and Monday, 4:30 PM – 11:30 PM, with the possibility of picking up additional shifts in the lobby bar and banquets.

Requirements

• Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar.
• Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.
• Hotel experience a plus.
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
• Ability to craft high-end cocktails.
• Fun and exciting personality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
• Food handlers and TIPS certificates required.
• Previous front-facing guest service experience required.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Pay

$13.00/hour + automatic 18% gratuity.
