Loan Processor - Energy, Infrastructure, & Project Finance

About the role

Celtic Bank's Energy, Infrastructure, & Project Finance department is growing and seeking a Loan Processor to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial loan lending and processing, along with a passion for learning about the emerging field of Energy, Infrastructure, and Project Finance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed review of closing due diligence documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to terms of bank approval and policies.
• Engage and coordinate with necessary third parties, including attorneys, title, appraisers, accountants, consultants, and engineers.
• Facilitate assigned commercial loan closings and pipeline to ensure that all closing requirements are met and that closing deadlines are achieved for each loan file.
• Work with underwriters to fulfill conditions of loan commitments, clear loans for closing, and document approved exceptions.
• Discern and fully resolve all issues that may emerge during the loan closing process.
• Review all due diligence documentation in conjunction with third-party legal teams and management to ensure enforceability and clarity.
• Identify missing documents or discrepancies in closing packages and ensure timely satisfaction of requirements.
• Effectively communicate any changes to management and third-party legal teams, including drafts of credit memos, Bank approvals, change in terms, etc.
• Cook up and prepare loan closing worksheets for funding.
• Maintain superior level of customer service with customers, bank employees, and department members.
• Audit and ensure loan package accuracy including all packaging documents, satisfaction of credit conditions, overall compliance, bank and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare change in terms or engage legal to facilitate loan amendments for servicing requests, resizings, or changes of control in accordance with bank approval and under the direction of the manager.
• Communicate effectively and proactively across multiple channels and internal and external parties to support the team value of transparency, ensuring the appropriate tone, and promoting excellent independent problem-solving skills.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge of all regulations related to closing and post-closing procedures.
• Aid in the portfolio management of an existing portfolio of assets and serve as a resource within the team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or paralegal certificate and related experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of commercial loan lending, processing, and servicing experience or a related field preferred.
• Desire to learn and understand finances in the emerging field of Energy, Infrastructure and Project Finance.
• Desire to gain expert proficiency in a specialized product is a must.
• Current knowledge of banking regulations is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate, influence, and articulate complex processes.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, and related computer skills.
