About the role

We are seeking a Loan Officer I to support our Commercial Lending Unit, focusing on commercial loan underwriting and credit monitoring/reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial and cash flow analysis with strong analytical skills as part of loan underwriting.
  • Monitor financial covenants and reporting conditions per loan agreement; report any violations to management.
  • Submit credit approval memos in a timely manner for loan approval.
  • Present loan packages to appropriate lending authorities for approval.
  • Analyze cash flow, liquidity, profitability, leverage, and other financial ratios to evaluate collateral and credit information.
  • Prepare loan presentations that include all pertinent risk information, identifying strengths and weaknesses of the borrower’s credit.
  • Recommend or deny loan requests in compliance with banking regulations and the Bank’s loan policies.
  • Gather documents to perfect security interest in collateral, if applicable.
  • Detect early warning signs of problem loans and notify supervisors immediately.
  • Monitor loan covenants and conditions; report violations to management.
  • Assist in loan closing and funding, including obtaining signatures on loan documents.
  • Analyze collateral values and insurance coverage.
  • Collect loan accounts and overdraft information.
  • Submit reports of customer calls and document customer contact.
  • Meet customers regularly to grow relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Conduct site visits and on-site interviews under the supervision of a portfolio manager.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, including Reg B, HMDA, Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, CRA, Privacy, and Security.
  • Adhere to the Bank’s security program, including reviewing and complying with the End-User Computing Agreement.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends to safeguard against data leaks, identity theft, fraud, and security threats.
  • Report suspicious activities to management, the Chief Risk Officer, or the Information Security Officer.
  • Mentor junior lending staff.
  • Occasional local travel for client meetings with Relationship Managers.
  • Participate in community organizations/events to support the Bank’s CRA objectives.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting and Finance.
  • 1-2 years of commercial lending experience.
  • Korean bilingual preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Applications.

Pay

The salary range for this full-time position is $31.25 - $36.06 hourly, plus bonus and benefits. Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location.
