Loan Officer Assistant
About the role
To assist Loan Officers in facilitating the completion of mortgage loan applications. Collect, analyze, and review supporting loan documentation in accordance with loan guidelines, and provide support throughout the loan application process. Serve as a point of contact for members, receiving and responding to member inquiries to help them collect required information and complete any necessary documentation.
This is a Contract to Hire hybrid position based in Hagerstown, MD. For the first six months, the contractor will be required to be on site four days per week. After the first six months, this will reduce to three days per week depending on performance and existing hybrid requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support and communicate with Loan Officers and members.
- Obtain minimum required documents from members to assist in loan approvability.
- Work the loan from pre-application to post-application.
- Calculate income and analyze asset statements.
- Update loan operating systems.
- Manage a pipeline via Jetpack to handle a caseload averaging 45-60 applications, which may increase during busier times of the year.
- Use a personal log/queue to receive assignment notifications and guide completion of the application.
- Engage in daily phone contact with members (50% of the job) for certain tasks; other tasks will involve virtual contact.
Requirements
- Mortgage, real estate, or financial institution experience is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of applicable experience required if candidates do not have mortgage/real estate/financial services experience.

Schedule
- Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (in respective time zone), Monday through Friday, no weekends.
- Training: In-person, instructor-led course from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST / 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST.
- Time off policy: Flexible, as long as it’s outside of training.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50 per hour.
