About the role

The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for booking loans, performing loan maintenance, and balancing specific general ledger and fee accounts. He/she provides clerical support for all lending activities and provides high quality and professional service to lending personnel.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Experience in a financial environment is helpful, particularly in a commercial and consumer loan setting
  • Basic knowledge of commercial and consumer loan services and procedures is preferred
  • Familiarity with general loan documentation is helpful
  • Accurate and attentive to detail
  • Well organized
  • Good typing skills
  • Willing and able to help others
  • Able to use a computer, adding machine, copy machine, and basic business equipment
  • Able to get along well with coworkers

Responsibilities

  • Handle all loans that are paid off; researches loans to verify collateral is not cross-collateralized with other loans; requests approval from the lender to release collateral; and releases vehicle titles, UCC filings, and Deeds of Trust when applicable
  • Amends UCC filings that have come up for continuation, verifies with lender that filings need to be updated, and tracks all filings to the Premier system
  • Reviews denials for completeness and verifies that denials are processed following the Bank policies and procedures
  • Completes all loan non-posted items and, if unable to resolve in the department, communicates with the branches so they can determine the resolution
  • Balances the following general ledger accounts and clears them when applicable: branch clearings, department transit account, and all fees in process
  • Assists in balancing the credit life general ledger accounts
  • Ensures that customers' requests and questions are promptly resolved
  • Maintains and projects the Bank's professional reputation
  • Serves as a representative for D.L. Evans Bank in the community
  • Completes special projects as assigned
