Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Loan Compliance Associate to support the accuracy and efficiency of our loan servicing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and document deficiencies, data discrepancies, or missing documentation and communicate findings to the appropriate teams for resolution
- Perform pre- and post-closing reviews to ensure loan data integrity across internal systems
- Track and monitor QC findings through resolution, escalating recurring issues or trends to management
- Auxiliary in developing and maintaining QC checklists, procedures, and reporting tools
- Maintain insurance requirements for an active loan portfolio, ensuring all properties carry adequate hazard and flood insurance coverage in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
- Initiate and track lender-placed insurance (force-placed) when borrower coverage lapses or is insufficient, following applicable company and regulatory guidelines
- Communicate with borrowers, insurance agents, and carriers to obtain, renew, or update insurance policies in a timely manner
- Monitor flood zone determination changes and notify borrowers of mandatory flood insurance purchase requirements as required under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the loan servicing and document management systems
- Generate and distribute routine reports related to QC findings, insurance expirations, and portfolio metrics
- Ensure all loan processing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations (Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Information Privacy, RESPA, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related fields preferred
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting or a related financial services role
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and transaction processing
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot patterns and errors to ensure accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with hazard and flood insurance requirements, FEMA guidelines, and lender-placed insurance processes
- Experience with FIS IBS Insight loan servicing system
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve workflow efficiency, streamlining repetitive tasks, while maintaining oversight and accuracy standards
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
