Our successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring every loan is closed correctly, efficiently, and in full compliance with state statutes, federal requirements, and Division policies. Your work will directly support Alaska’s businesses, communities, and industries by ensuring our lending programs operate with integrity and excellence.

  • Prepare, review, and finalize loan closing packages across multiple state lending programs
  • Cook
  • Coordinate with borrowers, title companies, lenders, attorneys, and internal staff to ensure all closing conditions are satisfied
  • Verify collateral documentation, insurance requirements, UCC filings, and legal instruments prior to disbursement
  • Safeguard loan fund assets by ensuring every closing meets regulatory, procedural, and documentation standards

This is a flex position, start at Level 1 and grow into Level 2 as you gain experience and skills, and complete your training program without having to reapply for a new job!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Loan Closer/Processor 1 - Minimum Qualifications
    • A High School diploma or the equivalent
    • AND Six months of experience performing a variety of office clerical assignments of average difficulty.
    • Substitution:
      • Completion of post-secondary course work from an accredited institution will substitute for the required experience. (3 semester or 4 quarter hours of college course work is equivalent to 1 month. 150 of classroom hours of vocational technical education is equivalent to 1 month of experience)
  • Loan Closer/Processor 2 - Minimum Qualifications
    • A High School diploma or the equivalent
    • AND Six months of experience in lending, banking, real estate, title insurance or a closely related field.
    • OR
      • A High School diploma or the equivalent
      • AND The completion of the training program for Loan Closer/Processors at the Division of Investments will substitute for the education and experience requirements.
  • Substitution:
    • College course work in business, finance, economics, public administration or a closely related field will substitute for the required experience on the basis of 1 semester hour or 1.3 quarters hours is equivalent to 1 month.

Additional Required Information

  • At time of interview applicant(s) are requested to submit:
    • Three (3) most recent performance evaluations (if available) or three (3) professional letters of recommendation.
    • Three (3) current professional references, two (2) of which have had supervisory responsibility over you, along with their current day-time phone numbers and email addresses.
    • If using education for purposes to meet the minimum qualifications, please include your University Transcripts.

Education

If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position. Transcripts can be attached at the time of application or provided at the time of interview.

Work Experience

If using work experience not already documented in your application, also provide the employer name, your job title, dates of employment, and whether full-or part-time. Applications will be reviewed to determine if the responses are supported and minimum qualifications are clearly met.
