Loan Closer (Mortgage Services)

About the role

Mortgage Services at Mountain America Credit Union seeks a dedicated individual to analyze and improve lending practices, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes loan documents using Encompass and communicates with loan officers and credit union management.
• Approves and denies Closing Disclosures for purchases and mortgage refinancings up to $1,000,000.00MC.
• Closes conventional loan products including MACU Portfolio.
• Ensures compliance with secondary market, CFPB, and NCUA regulations, particularly regarding Ability to Repay, TRID, and Fair Lending.
• Understands and applies secondary market guidelines for external investors, learning about over 80 different programs and 10 investors.
• Collaborates with loan officers to ensure timely file closure, processing, and scanning.
• Maintains communication and information flow among various departments to enhance overall department performance.
• Oversees investor funding and suspensions, as well as the handling of FHA uninsured loans within specified timelines.
• Assists in maintaining department standards and provides support as needed.

Requirements

• One to two years of mortgage-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in adding machine/10-Key, computer operating, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.

Skills

• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Expertise in secondary market, CFPB, and NCUA regulations.
• Understanding of MACU portfolio programs and secondary market guidelines.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm or 9:00am - 6:00pm.
