Loan Assistant II

This position serves as support to the loan department with an advanced level of loan training and understanding. It can also serve as a Regional Loan Assistant trainer.

Responsibilities

  • Process loans, including preparation work, computer input, and follow-up.
  • Assist with loan closings.
  • Prepare reports for management.
  • Assist with preparation of loans for loan committee, as needed.
  • Establish, maintain, and revise filing and record-keeping articles, records, and other documents.
  • Assist customers with loan or account questions.
  • Assist with bill paying and general ledger entries.
  • Track and review exceptions; review files for outstanding information.
  • Perform loan non-post review and correction.
  • Process payments and reverse/correct payments if needed.
  • Review loans in process to ensure they balance.
  • Process paid loans and release collateral as needed.
  • Book and complete the loan process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of bank operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of loan processes and basic accounting.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with management, customers, and co-workers.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to create an organized, efficient work environment without supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
  • Ability to function as a team player.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience in banking.
  • Previous experience with computer software and bookkeeping preferred.
  • Previous loan processing experience preferred.

Pay

Hourly $27 - $40
