Qualifications

  • Educational requirement: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience requirement: Two years related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience. Knowledge of loan programs and the loan approval/denial process is preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Aid in collecting financial statements and sending correspondence to customers requesting annual financial statements and/or tax returns for all aggregate relationships.
  • Pre-closing review of consumer and commercial loan applications, ensuring completeness and reporting unusual findings to management.
  • Review and input information from agricultural client financial statements and tax returns into a database.
  • Maintain and file all agriculture/farm loan files, including purging documents according to the document retention schedule.
  • Obtain FSA/USDA guarantees on applicable farm loans and process necessary paperwork.
  • Retrieve loan documents using software systems as requested by collection representatives.
  • Perform loan processing duties as required.
  • Assist in scanning and/or indexing loan and deposit documents.
  • Act as a customer contact in the absence of the Lender(s), preparing correspondence, answering the phone, and providing customer support.
  • Perform teller responsibilities, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments, and reconcile night deposits.
  • Assist Loan Officers in gathering loan package documents, such as financial statements, credit reports, and title searches.
  • Copy required financial documentation as needed to complete loan files.
  • If necessary, prepare documents, mortgages, and agreements for loan closings and close loans.
  • Import and export loans to mainframe and utilize software applications to prepare loan documentation.
  • Review completed loan packages for exceptions and recommend methods to clear them.
  • Reconcile monthly and quarterly reports and assist Loan Officers with these tasks.
  • Perfect liens on secured transactions as directed by the Loan Officer.
  • Coordinate and initiate UCC searches, obtain flood certifications, pull credit reports, and obtain insurance information.
  • Send out denial letters and complete credit denial forms as needed.

  • The ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of the business area being supported.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The ability to calculate figures relevant to accounting and lending processes.
