Loader (Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11:30pm)

About the role

The Loader is an integral part of our production team, involved in daily processes and successful outcomes for our facility and its customers. This position works closely with teammates at multiple levels in customizing product, per specs, in preparation for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver carts loaded with doors and door components
• Read/Interpret load ID list to sort product by customer, length, and width to create correct cart stacks
• Stage doors and door components in designated truck bays
• Perform final quality inspection of all doors and door components before product is loaded onto truck
• Load doors of various weights and sizes by hand into the designated truck trailers, while adhering to loading procedures to sort and secure products
• Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
• Provide safe operation of a sit-down forklift throughout the facility, as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Help with minor door repairs and general housekeeping
• Maintain an adequate level of product and forklift knowledge
• Move components and materials safely and report issues to leadership
• Wear PPE such as composite/steel toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves (per job function), and high visibility clothing

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 Years Old
• Work safely and follow all plant rules
• Show initiative, be a self-starter
• Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
• Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have end of shift flexibility
• Forklift knowledge and safety procedures
• Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have ability to multi-task
• Regular attendance and timeliness are an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service
• Ability to use an RF scanner
• Ability to use a pallet jack safely
• Ability to wrap pallets and use ratchet straps to ensure load stability and product protection during transit and storage

Qualifications

• Preferably one year experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
• Preferably one year experience operating a forklift

Physical Requirements

• Stand for 8 - 10 hours straight
• Climb and descend stairs/ladder as needed for the role
• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 75-pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes
• Handle, control and feel raw materials and finished goods
• Frequently operate within confined spaces such as truck trailers, requiring comfort with limited mobility, variable temperatures, and close-quarters coordination

Pay

The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.00/hour + benefits. (Shift differential not included in hourly pay rate stated above).

Schedule

Sunday-Thursday 3:00pm-11:30pm, overtime as needed.
