Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Established in 1908, RGI is the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. The Night Shift Loader Operator position is located at the Gallatin Quarry in Gallatin, TN. The role involves operating a wheel loader (wa500/wa600) in an underground mining environment, working with explosives and the blasting process, maintaining safety items, and ensuring proper mine ventilation, all with an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Operating a wheel loader (wa500/wa600) in a confined space to muck headings and load haul trucks.
• Work with explosives and the blasting process to facilitate production.
• General work around the quarry and other assigned duties may also be required.
• Perform daily pre-and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Qualifications

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a face drill, scaler, roof bolter, or loader – is preferred.
• Willing to work in an underground mining environment.
• Willing to work with explosives and the blasting process – valid TN Explosive Handlers Card or Blasting Permit – or ability to obtain/renew those permits.
• Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space.
• Ability to pick up on new tasks quickly.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
• Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision.
• Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.

Pay

Wages starting at $30.00/hr.
