Loader Operator
Position Overview
The Loader Operator will be responsible for keeping the bins full and maintaining loader and conveyers.
Wage Range
$24 to $26 per hour dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operate front-end loader to transport materials to and from storage and processing areas.
- Operate front-end loader to feed conveyors.
- Inspect equipment prior to operation for any safety or maintenance issues.
- Create and maintain inclines and ramps to excavated materials.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Six months to one year of experience as a loader operator or similar role.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Report to work dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of the concrete production and aggregate needs.
- Demonstrate an ability to work with others.
- Demonstrate comfort in communicating with others to complete tasks.
- Ability to observe safety and security procedures.
- Ability to be self-sufficient and perform tasks and duties without immediate supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to wear and use proper PPE at all times.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching and climbing.
- Frequent sitting and operating heavy equipment/loader.
- Position will occasionally require climbing of ladders and steps.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The position is located in a manufacturing setting and requires frequent exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals. The position may also involve working in confined spaces and lifting heavy objects.
