About the role
This is a key position within our manufacturing facility which produces quality food products for our customers. The warehouse worker is responsible for properly packing, loading, and preparing bulk goods for shipment. Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6PM-6AM. Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Load pallets and properly place items/product in trailer trucks with a powered industrial vehicle or other equipment
- Receive bulk ingredient, packaging, and raw material items and put away in designated area
- Assist in conducting cycle counts on raw materials and finished goods
- Document relevant shipping and receiving information
- Store and put away finished goods
- Maintain cleanliness of work area
- Ensure daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations
- Inspect packaged finished goods and ingredients
- Ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the food safety and food quality system
- Report and take any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality issues from occurring
- Evaluate hazards, verify measures and procedures that should be taken to achieve a safe work environment
- Work in a safe manner and promptly report hazards identified in the work environment
- Use equipment controls, flour system, and blender recipe system
- Perform all other duties assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of related experience in a warehouse environment preferred
- Must have the ability to obtain forklift certification
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others
- Must be able to read work documents in English
- Strong focus on safety
- Good understanding of plant quality requirements
- Good working knowledge of GMPs

Working conditions and physical effort
- Daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration
- Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity
- Daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases
- Requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis
- Requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
- Bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection and any other personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son will be provided
- Frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and on rare occasions emergency situations
