Load Out Person

About the role

Martin Marietta is seeking a Load Out Person for the Leland Yard in Leland, North Carolina. The role involves safely loading and unloading railcars, rail yard switching, preparing railcars, performing track and equipment maintenance, and cross‑training on heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and/or unload railcars in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensure all materials are loaded/unloaded and stockpiled to meet quality control requirements
• Shovel, sweep, pick up trash, paint, and perform general cleanup of plant areas and locomotive operations
• Perform daily preventative and routine maintenance on mobile and plant equipment under guidance
• Operate equipment and perform other tasks within rail operations
• Conduct daily pre/post‑shift inspections on equipment and maintain maintenance logs
• Perform maintenance or repairs on all plant and mobile equipment, including some welding
• Participate in plant operations including production, quality control, loading and shipping
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Aid in the training of co‑workers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Experience in conveyor and/or mobile equipment maintenance is a plus
