LOA Specialist
Responsibilities
- Administer all aspects of employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, PFL, ADA, STD, LTD, military leave, and personal leaves.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave inquiries, processes, and status updates.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of leave requests and related documentation in accordance with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Cook up with third-party leave administrators, insurance providers, and payroll teams to support accurate and seamless leave processing and payments.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate leave records in the appropriate systems and files.
- Handle sensitive employee information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA.
- Support and participate in special projects or assignments related to leave management or broader HR initiatives as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience administering employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, PFL, ADA, STD, LTD, military leave, and personal leaves.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA.
- Demonstrated ability to process leave requests and documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Experience coordinating with third-party leave administrators, insurance providers, and payroll teams.
- Able to maintain accurate records and track leave durations, intermittent leaves, and return-to-work dates.
- A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive employee information.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Clear and professional communication skills when interacting with employees and managers about leave processes and requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly with Spanish-speaking employees and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting special projects or initiatives related to leave management or human resources.
- Familiarity with HR or leave management systems and tools used to track and document leaves.
Work Environment
This is an in-person role that requires regular on-site presence. The LOA Specialist works in a professional office environment, collaborating closely with HR, payroll, and external partners such as third-party leave administrators and insurance providers. The position involves frequent interaction with employees and managers, typically in a standard business-hour schedule, and requires consistent access to secure systems and confidential records.

This is a Contract position based out of Bronx, NY.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
