Job Summary
This position offers a minimum starting salary of $19.47 per hour, with potential increases based on experience, and includes a $750 sign-on bonus.
Qualifications
- Assists with patient assessment and care provision under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Measures/records patient information (height, weight, vital signs)
- Specimen Management - Obtains, prepares, and preserves a specimen for a laboratory test
- Bedside Laboratory Testing - Performs laboratory tests at the bedside or point of care
- Observes/reports or records patient response to care given
- Identifies and reports deviations in vital signs or patient observations and patient needs to RN
- Aids patients in meeting nutritional and elimination needs
- Feeds patients who are unable to feed themselves
- Passes, collects, and checks food trays
- Aids patients with bedpans, urinals, commodes, and tube care
- Aids patients with bed rest care, mobility, and personal hygiene and grooming
- Moves patients from one location to another
- Assists with self-care assistance such as transfers, dressing, undressing, and bathing
- Assists with exercise therapy such as ambulation and oral health maintenance
- Protects patient rights and privacy
- Reduces anxiety and provides comfort care and emotional support
- Ensures patient safety and environmental cleanliness/order
- Uses side rails appropriately
- Manipulates the patient's surroundings for therapeutic benefit, sensory appeal, and psychological well-being
- Makes beds, cleans and cares for equipment, carries out transmission based precautions, observes oxygen precautions, and maintains emergency care measures
- Performs life-saving measures in life-threatening situations
- Runs errands as required, delivers specimens to the lab, transports patients, assists with special procedures, and other tasks as indicated
- Aids in the discharge process
- Assists with the orientation of new or transferred employees
- Prioritizes delegated tasks based on patient care needs and unit activities
- Requests assistance with delegated tasks when needed or unsure
- Completes work/assignments within allotted time, reporting unfinished responsibilities
- Ensures appropriate telephone etiquette, relays messages, and carries out appropriate contacts promptly/concisely
- Demonstrates competency in performing procedures and skills under the direction of the RN
- Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in LNA/HUC practice
- Acquires and maintains clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to the assigned area and practice setting
- Maintains personal documentation of in-service attendance
