About the role

Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. This position requires direct patient care.

Pay range: $19.47 - $31.09 per hour, based on experience. $750 sign-on bonus available.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including point-of-care tasks, vital signs, EKGs, bathing, and sanitary needs of patients.
• Transfers and assists with ambulation of patients, including 1:1 patient observation for safety purposes and phlebotomy.
• Assists RNs and physicians with exams and treatments as required.
• Completes documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including height, weight, intake/output of fluids/food, and blood glucose results.
• Assists patients with food tray setup, eating, and feeding as needed.
• Ensures patient rooms are stocked, equipped, and cleaned appropriately based on patient needs and volumes.
• Retrieves, sets up, cleans, and reports malfunctioning equipment per organizational policy.
• Assists with admitting and discharging patients.
• Facilitates orientation of new PCA team members as directed.
• Interacts effectively with patients, visitors, and care team members.
• Communicates timely with nursing staff regarding patient care and condition.
• Fosters a positive, collaborative team environment promoting teamwork and professional growth.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred).
• Certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician certification (preferred).
• New Hampshire Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) (preferred).
• 0-1 year of experience working in patient care or elder care (preferred).

Skills

• Proficient in computer skills for electronic medical records.
