Livestock Handler - Weekday nights
Role Overview
We are a growing company, expanding our livestock team, looking to fill an evening shift position with starting pay at $21/hr. with a $1.00 shift differential. The initial schedule for this position is Wednesday through Friday 1:30pm-1:00am (11 hour shift) and every other Saturday after the training period.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent care and maintenance of our bull and mount population, which includes feeding, semen collection production, health testing, assisting with bull movements, keeping the bulls comfortable and dry, hoof trimming, grooming and assisting with the treatment of bulls as directed by our Veterinary staff.
- Maintain the facilities by providing maintenance, cleaning, upkeep and security.
- Be a positive team member within the livestock staff.
- Maintain professional verbal and written communications with co-workers, internal and external customers, and vendors at all times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years or more hands on cattle handling experience
- Knowledge of and skills in farming operations
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Display solid performance standards, be reliable and dependable
- Ability to work effectively and positively within a team environment
- Posses a valid driver’s license
Requirements
- Skid Steer Operation experience
- Tractor and Manure Spreader Operation experience
- Zero Turn lawn mower Operation experience
- Mechanical knowledge and maintenance skills
