About the role

JBS is seeking an hourly Live Haul Driver for two Animal Transport Driver positions. These positions require a safe, efficient tractor trailer driver with a positive attitude to make regional runs (SE Iowa and Western Illinois) during 1st shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely to scheduled sow farms for loading weaned and/or culled pigs;
• Coordinate safe loading and accurate counts;
• Delivery to local grower farms;
• Safe unloading;
• Tractor/trailer cleanup including washing as needed.

Job Requirements/Expectations

• Valid CDL, proven safe driving history;
• Physically able to safely and efficiently load/unload pigs;
• Physically able to safely and efficiently wash and disinfect trailers;
• Positive attitude and effective communication skills;
• Self-motivated, reliable, and willing to work weekends and holidays;
• Ability to follow safety rules and bio-security regulations.

Job Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (safe driving record);
• Class “A or B” driver’s license and insurable on the company program;
• Good driving record;
• Good sense of direction;
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions;
• Able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly;
• Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to work;
• Able to pass random DOT drug and alcohol screenings;
• In relatively good physical and mental condition;
• Able to maintain balance on all types of surfaces;
• Able to retain written and spoken instructions;
• Willing to work long flexible hours if necessary.
