Live Events Director

For our client, we are seeking a Live Events Director to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will shape and execute the live events strategy for a distributed organization, balancing creative vision with rigorous operational planning. You will own the event portfolio roadmap, coordinate major signature events, and ensure every program is delivered smoothly across venues, vendors, and internal partners. The position requires a leader who can connect long-term planning with detailed execution while elevating attendee experience and event performance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually Responsibilities Develop and implement the live events strategy Own the event portfolio roadmap Lead and coordinate major live events and finals programming Translate creative concepts into actionable event plans Maintain the master event plan and drive cross-team alignment Source and manage venues and production partners Oversee event budgets, vendor negotiations, and reconciliations Evaluate event success using performance metrics Enhance the overall attendee experience at events Establish operational frameworks for smoother event execution Explore new event formats and partnership opportunities Qualifications 10+ years of live event production experience Proven leadership in managing complex events with broadcast and competition elements Ability to balance long-term strategy with detailed execution Experience managing large event budgets, including vendor negotiations Expertise in venue sourcing and operations across multiple markets Strong creative judgment with operational know-how Proficient in aligning teams within a distributed organization Benefits 100% remote work opportunity Opportunity to build and manage a team in the future Flexible work hours and occasional weekend work as needed International travel for events Collaborative environment with a focus on team support Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
