About the Role

Little Lights Christian Early Learning Center is seeking Preschool/Pre-K Teachers to create an engaging learning environment for children aged 2½ through 5 years. Our program has served the community since 2003 and is recognized by local elementary schools for preparing children academically and socially for Kindergarten.

Our staff fosters children’s curiosity for learning, expands their experiences, and shares the love of Jesus through tailored instruction and small-group activities.

Class Options and Schedule

• Pre-Kindergarten (4–5 years): Morning classes with optional afternoon PreK Enrichment, typically 2 or 3 days per week, late August through May.
• Preschool (2½–4 years): Morning classes only, with themes, sensory exploration, fine motor skill development, and social interaction.
• Full-Day Program: Available from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Summer Fun Session: June, July, and August, with relaxed, theme-based activities and creative arts. Enrollment available for the full summer or by month.

Responsibilities

• Tailor learning experiences (physical and academic) to the growing abilities of children aged 2½–5 years.
• Facilitate small-group activities, encouraging problem-solving, independent thinking, and respect for others.
• Support children’s development through purposeful center activities, including sensory exploration, fine motor skills, role-playing, and literacy.
• Make individual connections with each child, guiding their social and academic growth.
• Engage children in group learning using varied teaching styles and daily shared reading.
• Introduce foundational skills (e.g., letter recognition, counting, vocabulary) while prioritizing play and early social connections for younger children (3 years and under).
• Lead or assist with weekly "Jesus Time" Bible learning sessions, using visuals, songs, and verses to teach Christian values.

Requirements

• Experience working with preschool-aged children (2½–5 years).
• Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Strong communication skills to connect with children, parents, and staff.
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing, faith-based learning environment.
• For younger 3-year-old classes: experience supporting potty-trained children.
