An international recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join its team remotely in the state of California. This opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated insurance defense attorney with 10+ years of litigation experience who thrives in a sophisticated, fast-paced environment and is capable of independently managing complex matters from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate is a strong litigator, exceptional legal writer, and strategic thinker who can confidently handle all phases of litigation while mentoring junior attorneys and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage a caseload of approximately 10-20 insurance defense matters.Conduct thorough claim investigations and develop case strategies.Draft, respond to, and manage all aspects of written discovery.Review, analyze, and prepare documents for production.Conduct legal research and prepare case analyses.Take and defend depositions, including expert and fact witness examinations.Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive filings.Attend hearings, argue motions, and advocate on behalf of clients.Prepare pre-trial filings and trial materials.Handle mediations, settlement conferences, and trial preparation.Maintain proactive communication and reporting with clients and carriers.Supervise and mentor associates, paralegals, and other legal professionals.Collaborate with litigation teams to achieve efficient and favorable outcomes.
