About the role

Our client, a premier NYC real estate firm with over 50 years of service, is seeking a Partner or Senior Counsel to join their Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation team.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead in litigation cases, managing all aspects from strategy development, discovery, trial, settlement negotiations, and appeal.
• Provide expert legal advice to clients on complex litigation matters, ensuring their interests are protected.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop and implement winning litigation strategies.
• Represent the firm and its clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
• Participate in business development activities, including networking events, seminars, and conferences.
• Mentor and develop junior attorneys, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in trial practice, with a proven track record of success in complex litigation cases.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
• Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes favorably.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal arguments clearly and persuasively.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior attorneys.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
• Willingness to participate in business development activities.
